Dr. Douglas King

Dr. Douglas King

MD, FACS

Dr. King is a native of Central Pennsylvania who moved to the Seattle area for his surgical training and has been practicing general surgery in Puyallup ever since. For nearly 25 years, he has operated exclusively at Puyallup Ambulatory Surgery Center and Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dr. King performs the full spectrum of general surgical procedures. His highest volume procedures are cholecystectomies and hernia repairs, thyroidectomies and parathyroidectomies, bowel resections and endoscopies. He has developed a hernia repair technique which is tension-free, practically sutureless, with no postoperative lifting restrictions, so allowing nearly immediate return to normal activities and work. He liberally employs minimally invasive technologies for his abdominal surgeries and is obsessively attentive to cosmetics, especially for neck and breast procedures. He has performed thousands of colonoscopies with an extremely low complication rate.

He has pursued advanced training in endocrine disease and is offering the state of the art in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, including nerve and intraoperative PTH monitoring.
